I am in the process of cleaning out programs from my computer that have been accessing the internet without my knowledge.
Google has installed its code in many places on my computer and I don’t want it. I just found more Google code as a Firefox add-on, calling itself “Google Updater”. I don’t want an updater for Google so I am removing this. Here’s how:
Open Firefox.
Tools >> Add-ons
1. Click on the Plug-ins tab.

2. Click on the Disable button next to Google Update.

I disabled it a long time ago, but have yet to find a way to completely REMOVE it’s entry in the plug-ins section. Any thoughts?
Thanks,

I was able to remove the plug-in from Firefox and documented some of the steps I took in another post.
