The Bible says God is love. We can’t see love with our physical eyes. We can see the effect of love, but not love itself. It’s the same with wind. We can’t see wind, but we can see the effect wind has on matter.

God is Spirit. God is invisible. It was hard for me to believe in God because I couldn’t see him.
Words can be invisible. I can close my eyes and clearly think in words without opening my mouth, without making a sound.
I heard the story about a Divine Man that walked the earth a couple thousand years ago. The story goes like this….
A baby was born to a virgin, and this baby was no ordinary baby, but was the Son of God. He came to this world doing good deeds and acts of kindness. He fed the poor, gave drink to the thirsty…. He performed miracles to heal the sick, to cause the cripple to walk, and even raised the dead. He taught people the way to eternal life was through love…. love for God and love for our fellow man, as Jesus showed himself by his example. He said he is the way that leads to God. But then, ironically, religious people that acted like they believed in God demanded that the government kill this Son of God. They beat him, mocked him, humiliated him, tortured him, and killed him. They showed him no mercy! He died on a cross outside of Jerusalem.
And this man: JESUS CHRIST, who had performed many miracles, did nothing to save his own life. Why? This is a mystery and many that believe in him can not explain the full significance of what his death on the cross actually means. Many of us won’t know until we are in the spiritual realm.
But if the man Jesus had not died in this shameful way, would people on earth two thousand years later still talk about him? I doubt it. If he were the Son of God, with all power given to him by his Father in heaven, then why would he die? His story stuck in my heart like a seed, but for many years I did not believe it. But I sometimes wondered about him. If he knew he was making the Jews so angry, why didn’t he just tell them what they wanted to hear to save his own life? But when he was arrested, he said very little, mostly keeping quiet. He did not deny to being God’s Son and did not deny to being equal to the Father. Either he was a crazy man or he was telling the truth. But now I believe that Jesus is the truth.
Now I believe that he died so that we may have eternal life with God. His blood shed on the cross washes away our sins, our evil deeds, our works of hatred and selfishness. He took the punishment for us so that we may receive God’s forgiveness. And now I accept him as my Lord. His death also strengthens my will. If my King was willing to die for me, shouldn’t I be willing to live for him?
If Jesus had not died on the cross, I would not believe in a God of love, but Jesus showed by his life in this world the most perfect love that I have ever heard.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. [John 15:13]
Jesus lay down his life for us, showing that he was one with God. God is love and Jesus showed the most love. He became fully one with God.
And after three days, he took his life again.
Now I know that Jesus is the image of the invisible God. If you know Jesus, you know God.
What must I do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved, and your house. [Acts 16:31]
